Maryville College retained their undefeated record in USA South play as they defeated Piedmont College in three sets Saturday, October 19th with scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-16.

An early six-point run headed by Brianne Sidner's service in the first set starting at 15-13 would set the pace early against the opposition for an offensive showcase put on by the Scots throughout the match.

The Scots were paced in this impressive offensive effort by Meredith Bonee and Maggie Mathews as both picked up double-doubles.

Bonee would tally an assist count of 15 helping to lift the MC offensive effort while Saidee McDaniel was off the court who earned an impressive 16 assists herself. Bonee would also pick up 10 digs to help defend the court from Piedmont's attacks.

Mathews would also contribute both on the offense and defense as she accounted for 11 of the squad's kills and 10 digs in her defensive efforts from the back line.

McDaniel would almost be the third Scot to pick up a double-double as she racked up eight digs.

Mathews and Dejane Hester-Taylor would contribute heavily on the net in the first set making three block assists. They would continue making plays on the net in the second set to pick up four together before Hester-Taylor and Arin Wyttenbach would come together in the third set to tally Hester-Taylor's fifth block assist for the match.

These defensive efforts would leave the Scots with a total of 10 block assists for the match.

MC would also amass an impressive 55 digs of which Bonee and Mathews accounted for almost half.

The Scots would continue to tally impressive offensive stats as they accumulated 10 service aces. Four of these would come during a run by Allison Botts, and an additional three by Natalie Watts.

Maryville College will continue to play and close out the league quad-match against Brevard College. The Scots squad will look to hold their undefeated conference record as they continue to defend Randy-Lambert Court on homecoming weekend.
