Scots sweep Wesleyan 3-0 behind strong offensive attack

The Maryville College volleyball team earned their fourth victory of the season with a 3-0 shutout of USA South foe Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon in Macon, Georgia. The Scots earned the straight set win with scores of 25-10, 25-6, and 25-10.


Behind an offensive attack that featured a .525 team kill percentage, Maryville's Allison Botts paced the Scots with a dozen kills on 17 total attacks. Madison Wilkerson deposited 10 kills in 15 attacks. Taylor Youell had a complete match with 20 assists, five service aces, and seven digs. Rhianna Tyldesley added six kills on nine attacks. Rachel Kozemko paced the MC defense with eight digs.


Malae Fiaseu and Jimea Dunn combined for 15 kills for the Wesleyan Wolves.


Maryville advances to 4-8 overall and 1-1 in USA South play. Wesleyan falls to 1-7 and 0-2 in league challenges.


Maryville will take on Agnes Scott later on Saturday to complete the USA South road trip to Macon, Georgia.
