The Maryville College women's soccer program took over sole possession of first place in the USA South Western Division with a 4-1 victory over Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia on Wednesday evening.
Maryville's Taylor Frizen tallied a pair of goals and an assist to move the Scots to a perfect 6-0 in USA South challenges.
Covenant lit up the scoreboard first when Kyra Duble found Kailey Burrell for her 8th goal of the season giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage.
Maryville tallied the equalizer in the second half at the 48:34 mark. Frizen directed her 5th assist of the season towards Shannon Reagan. The league's top scorer deposited her 15th goal of the season making the score 1-1.
In the 70th minute MC posted the game-winner when Macy Lindsey found Frizen for her first goal of the match and her 9th strike of the season.
Only two minutes later, Reagan added her 8th assist of the season when Zoe Van Hook hit the back of the net with her 1st goal of the season.
Frizen completed the brace in the 76th minute when Kelly Allen supplied a cross that she completed for her 10th goal of the campaign.
Maryville (10-4-0) will have Homecoming weekend off before traveling to Brevard College on Tuesday, October 22. Their final regular-season home match and senior day will be Sunday, October 27 when they host LaGrange College at 3:30 p.m.
