Reagan's hat-trick, Lindsey's brace lead Scots past Berea 7-0

Maryville's Shannon Reagan tallied a hat-trick boosting her USA South leading goal total to ten to help the Scots defeat Berea College 7-0 in Berea, Kentucky on Tuesday evening.

MC posted the eventual game-winner in the 7th minute when Jenna Clothier lofted a free-kick from over 35-yards away into the upper left of the net to make the score 1-0. The left-footed blast was her third score of the season.

Seven minutes later, Reagan distributed an assist to Macy Lindsey. The freshman from Knoxville recorded her first career goal and was just getting started.

Reagan tallied her first goal of the challenge in the 33rd minute off a Lindsey Lewallan pass. Shannon's strike was her 32 of her stellar career.

Maryville took a 3-0 lead into the half outshooting the Mountaineers 16-2 with eight on frame.

Lexie Hill began the Scots' second-half scoring off a Shannon Reagan dish. Hill's goal was her second of the season.

In the 51st minute, Reagan secured the brace with a pass from Macy Lindsey making the score 5-0.

Lindsey enjoyed her first collegiate goal so much she deposited her second strike just three minutes later unassisted.

In the 57th minute, Reagan completed the hat trick with a blast off a penalty kick making the final score 7-0. Shannon finished her 46th game as a Scots with her 34th goal and 13th assist.

Maryville completed the league road challenge outshooting Berea 29-4 on the day. Abbey Coleman and Spencer Ann Mitchell shared the shutout in net for the Scots.

MC advances to 6-4 on the season and 2-0 in USA South action while Berea falls to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in conference action.

Maryville will travel to Demorest, Georgia on Friday to challenge Piedmont College. First touch is slated for 6:00 p.m.
