Maryville College improved four strokes on Tuesday, as the Scots finished in seventh at the Piedmont College Spring Invitational.
Maryville's Katelyn Witucki improved seven shots from the opening round, carding a team-leading 87. Witucki tied for 31st overall on the 5,807-yard course at The Orchard Golf & Country Club.
MC posted a 788 in the two-day event, as they shot a 392 on the second day of competition.
Methodist University took the team honors in the Clarksville, Ga. event, as the Monarchs shot a 53-over 628. The Methodist squad had a trio in the top three positions, as Jillian Drinkard won the individual crown with an 8-over 152.
Drinkard shot back-to-back 76s to take top honors, as her teammate, Peyton Durham, ranked second with a 14-over 158.
The Monarch's Morgan Bowen tied for third with a 15-over 159, as Piedmont College's Kensley Brown matched her. Washington & Lee's Hannah Jones and Beth Ann Townsend also tied for third individually at 15-over.
Washington & Lee took second place as a squad, posting a 78-over 654. Huntingdon College ranked third with a 662 score.
MC's Hannah Doherty was the top finisher, tying for 29th. She posted a 13-over 85 in the second round for a 179 total. Elaina Davis shot a 102, as Bailee Powell followed with a 109 to wrap up the scoring. MC's Kaysi Royston shot a 117 in the second round.
Maryville College will look next to the Birmingham-Southern College Southern Showdown on April 15-16. The two-day tournament is set for the Bent Brook Golf Course in Birmingham, Ala.
