The Maryville College women's golf team set two new school records on Tuesday during the second round of the Tennessee Wesleyan Women's Fall Invitational at Springbrook Golf Club in Niota, Tennessee.
After opening the tournament on Monday with a round of 366 the Scots made a nine stroke improvement in round two and posted a new school 18 hole scoring record with a team total of 357. Maryville's previous record round of 362 was set during the 2010-11 season.
The teams 36 hole total of 723 also set a new school mark, eclipsing the previous 36 hole record by six strokes.
Maryville was led by sophomore Grace Gass who finished tied for 12th in the 44 player field with scores of 90-80=170. Senior Sarah Grace Holland was next best for the Scots. Her 95-87=182 total gave her a 29th place finish.
St Andrews University took home the team title with a 634 total which was 21 better than the host team Tennessee Wesleyan. Maryville finished 6th in a field made up of NAIA teams.
On September 25th & 26th the Scots will be in action at the Montgomery Country Club Women's Invitational in Montgomery Alabama.
