Six Maryville College hurlers combined to give up 20 hits as the MacMurray College Highlanders claimed the series over the Scots with an 11-6 victory on Sunday on MC's Scotland Yard.
Maryville's offense accumulated 11 hits with third baseman Caleb Adams finishing 3-for-3. Bryce Redaja scored three runs after a 2-for4 performance while Andrew Henry deposited an RBI triple to conclude a 2-for-4 afternoon. Designated hitter Alden Wright added a pair of hits to the Scots offense.
MacMurray's 20 hit performance was sparked by Collin Antoine's 4-for-4 afternoon. Catcher Wyatt Logsdon went 4-for-5 while Alec Quandt, Brett Mammenga, and Brendan Schanz each recorded three hits.
The Highlanders (2-1) Luke Jarvis earned the win on the mound after scattering eight hits in six innings while striking out five and allowing only one earned run.
MC's Joe Logsdon (0-2) suffered the loss after allowing three earned runs and seven hits in 3.1 innings of work.
Maryville College (3-4) will look to rebound with a mid-week non-conference challenge at Berry College on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch in Rome, Georgia is slated for 3:00 p.m.
