Maryville Women Finish Second at Mountaintop Invitational

The Maryville College women's cross country team traveled to Lookout Mountain, Georgia for the Mountaintop Invitational on Friday evening.

The Lady Scots started the season strong finishing second behind race host Covenant College but in front of Truett-McConnell  and Reinhhardt.Maryville was paced by junior Emily Guillaume who finished the race second overall with a two mile time of 13:28. Second and third in for the Scots were juniors Camilla Loggins and Taylor Rigatti finishing in 14:13 and 14:16 respectively. A trio of seniors,Taylor Huskey,Emily Davis,and Ashlyn Kittrel rounded out the top six spots coming in together with 15:10, 15:20, and 15:24 finishing times. The Scots started and finished the race with a record setting squad of 16 runners.
Coach Tyson Murphy stated, "We got off to a great start this season with a good group of quality runners.  We have speed and depth and we can really look forward to our next race."
 
His Scots will prepare for the Sewanee Invitational slated for September 6th.
