The Maryville College women's basketball team fell to 1-6 on the season following a 69-58 loss at the hands of Hendrix College in their final challenge at the 2017 Rhodes College Classic in Memphis, Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.
Maryville's Lauren Biliter paced the Scots with 16 points. The senior went 5-for-15 from the floor while going 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. Haley Talbott added 14 points after nailing four three-pointers. Collectively, MC shot only 32% from the floor (21-for-64). Rachel Hawn pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.
Hendrix (7-1) posted a 44% shooting effort (23-for-52) behind Kessie Jenkins' 20 points off the bench. Jenkins was 9-for-13 from the floor. Madison Martin tossed in 13 points while going 5-of-9 from the floor. The Warriors took advantage of going to the line 32 times dropping 20-of-32 free throws.
Maryville's days of being road warriors comes to an end after seven consecutive road challenges to open the season. The Scots will have their home opener on Sunday, December 10 when they open USA South action against Huntingdon College in the Boydson Baird Gymnasium. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
