Maryville College's Nick Dean has been named an All-South Region performer by D3baseball.com following his outstanding senior campaign. He was named USA South Player of the Year after leading the Fighting Scots to a 16-22 record.
Dean, a senior shortstop from Mineral Bluff, Georgia led the USA South Athletic Conference with a .401 batting average and a .563 slugging percentage. Additionally, Dean's 57 hits ranked second, his 80 total bases were third while his .464 on-base percentage was fourth in the Conference. In USA South games only, Dean led the League with a .430 batting average, a .600 slugging percentage, 43 hits and 60 total bases. For his efforts, Dean earned his second consecutive All-Conference honor as he was a first team shortstop this spring after earning second team accolades last year as a junior.
